June 1st 2003

In early spring of 2003 I managed to get hold of one of the first commercially available Nirvanas... Yellow off course!

It wasn't love at first flight, but after a few months I was pretty much in control of things. This clip is shot at the Nordic Kite Meeting in Blokhus, Denmark 2003 in close to perfect conditions.

I just can't believe it's been six years! (more)

More Freestyle!

Here's another quick glimpse of Yours Truly playing around with a Nirvana in good winds at Fiskebäck, Gothenburg, Sweeden April 2008.

Even though this video is shot more than a year ago it's still one of my fave self made clips.

I hope you'll like it too! (more)

Cool combinations

New feature: Click to listen! (mp3)
Finally summer's here and the mercury is hovering well above +30C. Maby a bit too hot for kite flying, but what the heck! Stocking up plenty of water and flying on the beach is pretty nice nevertheless!

I found myself a small field at the seaside and the wind was a nice and smooooth onshore breeze just begging to be flown!

The Cosmic TC UL was the first kite outta the bag but I pretty soon found that the Std would perform better. And so it did! (more)

Mesh up your kite

Anders Matson, Swedish kite enthusiast, captain of the AERIALIS Team Flyers and a very experienced kite builder reveals a couple of helpful hints for making a vented kite. His pictures say a lot and hopefully this article will inspire you to do some experimenting yourself.

And if you do, please let us know! (more)

Taming the Oversteer

Do you have trouble with your sportkite oversteering? Some kites come with a bit of oversteer built in. I must admit I'm not too fond of this ... feature, so if you're like me, I hope you find these handful of tips useful.

Oversteer is most likely caused by not having enough washout at the outer standoff point on the wing. (more)

Line Length Equalizer

As you probably have noticed, flying lines stretch and flying a kite with flying lines of unequal length doesn't exactly favour your flying. Actually it's pretty frustrating!

But no worries! A nice, little gadget - the Line Length Equalizer - should put an end to your frustrations! (more)

Welcome to the 3rd Generation

Hello kite friends across the world!

It's a great pleasure for me to present the third generation of the AERIALIS Website...

AERIALIS WORLD!

As you probably have noticed, it hasn't been much activity at the 'old' AERIALIS Community, but after spending a longer period in kiting hiberniation, things are about to change!

Come on in and enjoy the ride! ....ehr... Flight!

Totally freestyled!

You know. Some days everything just clicks. You nail 'em all. Any trick you throw at the kite works out and you and your kite really connect.

OK, I know this sounds a bit off, but if you've had the experience, you know exactly what I mean. Here's a clip from one of those days when everything clicks! (more)

Team- and pairs flying

In april 2008 the AERIALIS Team Flyers - Anders, Kjetil and Sven - gathered in Gothenburg for a weekend of laidback team flying.

The weather was great with nice sunshine, decent temperatures and pretty smooth and stable winds.

What more could you ask for ...except prehaps a cold after-flight beer?!! (more)

Oldie but Goodie

As requested by Brian O at the GWTW-forum....

"...You should dig up and repost those old videos of you flying the gem - I always loved them. ..."

So... Here's one of my older videos flying the Gemini! (more)

My NKM09 Gallery

Here are ALL my 360-something pictures shot at the Nordic Kite Meeting in Denmark this year.

As you can see from the pictures, the weather was favourable for kite flying and we even had temperatures reaching up for +20C. Not bad at all!

So sit back and enjoy the show! (more)

Video from NKM09

The Nordic Kite Meeting 2009 was yet another success story. Great weather and (mostly) good winds prepared the ground for yet another succesful meeting.

Here's a little taste from the Meeting. And hopefully this video clip will tempt you to join in next year! (more)

Climbing Jacob's Ladder

Click to listen!
The Jacob's Ladder, a really nice trick combination that even a non-kiter can understand and appreciate. And perhaps best of all; the ''Ladder'' is not too difficult to learn, and hopefully - when you have read through this article - you're a few steps closer to make it.

Are you ready? OK, let's go! (more)

Fade in high winds

Click to listen!
Trick flying in higher winds is demanding, no question about that. Trick flying means your lines going slack all the time, but when the wind is howling it's very hard to get enough slack in the lines to carry out the various tricks.

Some tricks are easyer than others. The cometè, the insane and the rolling cascade are examples of tricks that I really enjoy doing in high winds. A decent fade however, can be quite tricky to nail in a stiff breeze. (more)
