New website

I have just finished the new website for the AERIALIS Team Flyers!

There hasn't been much activity on the old site and while the rains is falling and I'm having a few days off with nothing better to do, I took on the task of revamping the AERIALIS Team Flyers' website.

Well, it's a bit more than just a slight revamp. It's actually a brand new site, and you can take a closer look at it here!

5:11

Five minutes and eleven seconds of pure freestyle!

Sicilian based flyer Daveis putting the Nirvana SE WW (Whithout Wind) throught it's paces. Dave is a very good pilot and this video clip comes to prove it.

So sit back and enjoy! (more)

Aerobe

AEROBE - a great looking and great flying new single line kite from Flying Wings.

Several videos are available on www.youtube.com and here is one example.

Seems like a very good kite for those lazy summer evenings when the wind is absent. (more)

Webshop

Click to listen!
The webshop is open!
I'm currently working on a webshop allowing you to purchase AERIALIS World 'stuff' online!

Any profit made from this shop will solely be going to keep the AERIALIS websites on line. I think this is a much better way of funding than having all sorts of adds splattered all over the page.

So if you like what you see here at the AERIALIS World, why not open the door to the shop, take a look around and maybe you'll be tempted to buy... and help me to get things going!

Shop is planned to open end of week 30/2009.

Gaining weight?

Some time ago I got a very good tip on what to use for weighting a kite. And guess what, a keyword here is IKEA.

You know ... IKEA, the Swedish company selling all kinds of furniture and other household articles - or affordable solutions for better living - according to themselves? (more)

AERIALIS Team Flyers

At the NKM in 2008 we had super smooooth onshore winds clocking in at about 2m/sec. Not the usual gale force mania.

The sun was beating down from a deep blue sky too and the conditions for quality team flying were ... perfect.

Here's a little taste of the AERIALIS Team Flyer's activities at the NKM08. Hope you like it! (more)

Cosmic Freestyle

Inbetween the rain showers the sun is coming out from it's hideaway. Together with somewhat windy conditions the weather was pretty good for kite flying.

So I grabbed my kite bag, the video camera and Mr. Tripod and headed for the beach.

Here's the result! (more)

AERIALIS Fly Inn July '09

AERIALIS Fly Inn, July 12th and the weather forcast looked good! Sunshine and a moderate breeze coming in from the south.

When I arrived at Ekeberg the wind was more or less absent, but during the day things were gonna change.

Here's a quick rundown of the day in pictures! (more)

Get a grip!

Is there a correct way to hold the straps when flying? In my opinion the answer is.. YES, the way you feel the most comfortable!

I've seen quite a few different ways to grip the straps, and as long as yo feel comfy with your way, that's the way to go. Here are a few pictures showing different grips. There sure are more, but hopefully these pictures will inspire you to experiment. Maybe you can improve your grip! (more)

AERIALIS World Trailer!

It just seems like I cant get to sleep, so I cut some time making a video trailer for the AERIALIS World website.

You can watch it here and if you like it, please let me know!

There'll probably be more trailers to follow in (hopefully) near future! (more)

How to Cometè Compilation

Click to listen!
The Comete is a trick that illuded me for quite some time. Finally after many months of frustration I was getting the hang of it.

...and now I'm thinking.... is that's all there's to it? ...and then again, I guess not. I've been having two phases with the Comete.

The first phase was trying to figure out what was really going on. What was the kite supposed to do in the air? I watched lots of video clips trying to get the hang of it, and slowly I came to grips with the details. (more)

YoYo Cage

If you do multiple yoyos with your kite, you often see that the kite is deformed by the wrapped flying lines.

Anders Matson has come up with an idea to prevent this deformation and here he takes you through the paces on how to make a yoyo cage!

Let's go Anders! (more)

Get that kite down!

Watch Anders M fighting with a foil in heavy winds.

This is surely one of the hazards of flying single lined kites in (very) windy conditions!

As you can see at the end of the video clip, it was a happy ending! (more)
